For events 13 to 16, a member’s best time in each event will qualify.
For events 15 & 16, members will need to submit their race results to the Championship secretary.
Five points will be awarded to every member for finishing in each of the above events, regardless.
Race positions will be calculated by age grading members race times (using computer software) and further points will be awarded to the first ten members on this basis (i.e. ten points to first place, one point to tenth place).
Starting this year, runners will also be able to play their 'Joker' for any one race. The Joker must be declared before the actual event, and will count for double points.
However, only members best eight positional results from all of the sixteen events are to qualify.
That means the maximum points available to any one member is:
16 events @ 5 points plus 8 first places @ 10 points = 160 points in total
In the event of a tie, the member who has participated in the most events will take precedence. If still tied, the member with the most first places will prevail.
Please note that the Championship is weighted so that enthusiasm is primarily rewarded, as well as members’ performances (relative to their age) throughout the whole year. This should mean that a large number of members would have a realistic chance of competing for the top places if they decide to support the Championship events.
